About
TriTiya is the online family for queer Indians. Gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transsexuals and others of alternative sexual preferences are welcome to join the TriTiya family.
The name: TriTiya comes from Tritiya Prakriti (in Sanskrit meaning “Third Nature”), the term used in Sanskrit literature for queer people that do not conform to the majority sexuality or gender identity.
TriTiya consists of a news site discussing the highlights of India’s queer community – do chip in by contributing news, articles, essays, stories, poetry, photos and videos.
You can contribute regular or one-off contributions and your post might get featured on Tritiya’s front page. For more information, read how/what to contribute.
We have a strict NO hate, NO pornography policy.
Groups/Clubs (Coming Soon): Please let me know if you’d like to host a group/club on Tritiya on a particular theme such as your local meetup, activist, bookclub or any other group. And I will set it up for you!
Discussion forums: On a wide range of topics of importance to the LGBTQ community – we seek to offer a space where we can all be free and vocal. Don’t be shy to seek or offer help and advice on a variety of issues such as coming out, how to tackle family and the workspace and others.
Resources: A pan-Indian LGBT resource directory of magazines, websites and groups. And a city-wise directory of resources for the queer community ranging from cruising areas to helpline numbers.
Events: Post any kind of community events: parties, book club meets, movie nights, activism planning, group meetings as well as Pride parades.
Have you any ideas/suggestions/comments on the direction TriTiya is evolving in or how it should? Do feel free to let me know in the comments/contact. Any must haves?
