Muslim quotas in IIT, IIM and IIFT
See the latest post on Reservations in IITs and IIMs for OBCs here.
Today is a very sad day in India’s future when our Govt. has “considered” taking a turn back into the Black Ages.
The notorious Congress party once again promotes reservations for Muslims with an eye on their votes, this time in the IITs and IIMs. Everybody knows that there is no other reason for any party to create reservations for Muslims!
I mean, if Muslims are educationally more backward than others, then there are many other avenues for improving that situation, such as creating more schools and colleges in Muslim-dominated areas.
But the important thing is that any institution that the Govt. sets up has to necessarily be secular, if not for morality’s sake, for the sake of our respected constitution.
But NO! Secularism has a whole new meaning in our country. Aligarh Muslim University was declared a minority institution even though it eats off Central funds. Andhra Pradesh announced reservations for Muslims in education and jobs.
Thankfully we have a sane Judiciary which struck down both orders in the name of our constitution. How can a secular country have Hindu or Muslim institutions?
Muslims desperately need education just so that they will not be used by political parties like vote-slaves! If only more Muslims knew that their being used this way is not good the health of India’s Muslim community.
The country is virtually saying that Muslims are not as good as others to get into IITs and IIMs and should therefore need reservations. How can any self-respecting Muslim accept this?
This will further, very adversely, affect the credibility and standards of the IITs and IIMs. Already there is a 20% reservation for the SCs and STs, and a former director of IIT Kharagpur, Kasturi Lal Chopra, is against it:
We have relaxed rules for them and have special coaching classes. But this is not helping; they are barely able to clear their examinations, Chopra said. They finish the four-year course in seven to eight years.
Not that people from the SCs and STs are not as capable. It is just that those who get in through the quota are not as good - which is natural!
Ambedkar must be so turning in his grave - his ultimate wish for a reservation-free India is not only yet to be realized, but reservations are eating into all spheres of Indian life!
What do you have to say about the reservations in India for SCs, STs, BCs, MBCs, OBCs, and a proposed one for Muslims? Feel free to comment below.

As an IITian and IIMCian myself , I Strongly oppose this move. And so do many other muslim friends who are from IIT and/or IIMs. Its not that I wont be happy seeing more muslims in these institutions , its only that I would hate them to feel like and be treated like second class citizens in the campus.
There are bright and deserving students in the community who may be provided special coaching facility either by the goverment or by the community itself. And there could be financial assistance provided if the student’s family cant afford the fees ( it was true in my case too, and I managed through scholarships and 7 years of part time work while studying).
The opposition to this move and solution to the problem should come from Muslims themselves. I am willing to contribute to a fund that will help coach muslims not only for IIT/IIM but also IAS/IFS etc. I welcome any other fellow Indian to join irrespective their religion. I may be contacted at ali@solutions.ae to take this matter further.

As a muslim myself, and an IIM aspirant, i dont agree with the reservation stuff. If the govt is farsighted enough, it should take measures to improve the grassroots of education and take steps to provide us with basic education. Such moves are really bad and will affect the society in 2 ways:
1. A really deserving guy will lose out because of this and this is a crime.
2. A not so deserving guy is now pushed into the whole scheme and he’ll not be upto the expectations of the whole setup.
Nothing is going to work - apart from the fact that the govt will have numbers of minorities in IIMs and IITs to quote during the next election campaigns.
As far as i am concerned there can be only one category of reservation - based on economic background. Those are unfortunate people, who could have done better in life if only they could have got more money. Such people must have seperate exams and must be given the opportunity. Apart from this all reservations - starting from SC/ST stuff, till the recent one, nothing is for the public. it is pure politics.
As an OBC candidate I strongly oppose reservation. I propose 0% reservation for OBCs. OBCs are capable of working hard and earning admissions in any institution. Reservations should be restricted to SC/ST candidates who are also economically backward! Rest get off your lazy a** and work for seats!
NO TO RESERVATIONS!
As a muslim,I hate the idea of being a reservation to Muslim students in IIT’s and IIM’s infact I hate the whole concept of reservation based on cast / community reservation of this kind create lots of socio economic problems in our Indian Scoiety.Infact I hate this concept of reservations which is prevailing in the Govt promotions also.
Hi friends
its good to see so many ppl against the reservation. reservation dont promote ppls it only promote hate among the fellow countrymen and vote banks for the political parties. And just for the muslims like iday , sheikh and imran i can stood with the muslims on any platform to fight for the right cause. I had seen that reservation promotes only a section of these class who donot need reservation at all like son/daughter of IAS and ministers.
If we really want to help these weeker section dont give them reservation , let them fight in competion exams ( and dont charge any exam fees from them , and if they get admission make educatiom free for them or like education loan which they can repay after getting job. dont treat them like handicaps give them support and trust . and i believe with in 20 years word “RESERVATION” will be deleted from the dictionaries .

Open letter to President of India.
As a citizen of the country, I wish to bring before the authoritative Head of the civilians and armed forces of India, my extreme concern of the forces of the present day that in my opinion may eventually divide the entire India soon.
I am Indian citizen by Birth. After 1947 when India choose the constitution, the Great Bar-at-law Mr. Ambedkar gave equal rights to all the citizens of India, irrespective of caste, religion or tribes. But the present scenario for the Indian citizen is different from the one that was introduced constitutionally in Jan’1950.
The Indian constitution as of today initiates many actions based on ‘scheduled “caste” or tribes. The government controls the power of attaching legal status as “scheduled caste or tribes” based on the minority status. Again the various governments at the centre or at the state level were eager to enlist particular minorities for the benefit of retaining the benefit of holding power in the government. Recently a genuine minority namely “Jains” moved the Supreme Court for getting the legal minority status; the same was not approved by the government and of-course supreme-court for various reasons. Such indications and the constitutional activity in recognizing the castes/tribes based on religious sects have, in my opinion put entire INDIA under the threat of dividing forces. Many African nations have similar problems presently since one of the sects hold on to power. Even the worst apartheid regime of South Africa, seemed to divide the general population as “black or white”. But Indian constitution has recognized such a numerous number of sub –sects.
Politicians especially the congress government introduced the 42nd amendment, mainly to increase the vote-banks rather than having any real interest in the uplifting of the poor people. As picturized in a tamil weekly namely “Ananda Vikatan” recently, when a street performer with children also performing, was asked as to why he didn’t send the children to school, he has openly stated that the schools have asked for caste certificate. Until recently the bad structure of “reservation on the basis of castes/tribes” were implemented in the government run institutions for admission to educational institutions or for employment. When some sought to extend this to private institutions, the Supreme court clearly stated that, over a period of time, the Government should reduce the number of minorities being given legal status as “scheduled caste/tribes”. But the Governments on the otherhand, over the years, have increased the number of minorities on the basis of sub-sects within one religion. This action has increased the fervor of some others to demand an entire religion to be given legal status as “Scheduled caste/tribe (may be religion now) legally through the constitution. Such recognitions only divide the Indian Population and the governments are doing the same even after the independence, what was practiced by the British before Independence.
If a fundamental right given to a citizen of India especially by birth is altered to give more benefits to a section of the society, the amendments and the Government should equally take care that the existing fundamental right to the existing citizens are not diluted. Any law which violates fundamental rights would be ultra-vires the Constitution and this should have been applicable for the entire gamut of constitutional amendments over the years.
If certain section of the society is in dire need of favours for admission to educational institutions, Governments may desire to consider giving special status by giving special entitlements but certainly not based on caste/tribe/religion. The government also should not have diluted or deprived the fundamental rights of the other section of the society. Presently constitution states that India is democratic society. But can we change it to the altogether to be communist society without any democratic rights to the society. Similarly the 42nd amendment has deprived the fundamental rights of many sections of the society to compete for the basic need of education itself.
Secondly such recognitions to favour some on the basis of caste/religion, especially with regard to admissions in “professional educational institutions” deprive many sections of hard-working dedicated young generations of their pursuit in their excellence. As in many industries, for an establishment to survive for long, it necessary to maintain a QUALITY output. The education institutions are also an Industry by itself doing a social cause and hence it has to turn-out QUALITY PROFESSIONALS to serve the country. The deprived sections of the society hither-too, were circumventing the problem of the reservation by going to private educational institutions, since they all, including me, felt that Government is sincere in trying to uplift the scheduled castes/tribes. But sadly enough, the government has plugged that route also now by extending the reservations to private educational institutions. The students in any educational institution studies for excellence and such excellence is measure only be the examination results. If after hard-work and dedication, if the examination results are to be set-aside only to give a caste/tribe/religion favour, the entire motivation of the student will be totally a waste. Then why should we hold exams for the students and such process seem to be meaningless. Students will be encouraged to get only the certificate and not the knowledge. In schools we were taught “Barathiyar’s poem namely “
“There are no caste dividers [ Sathigal Illayadi pappa]
It will be bad to grade people on the basis of castes” { kula thazchi uyarchi solal pavam]
Those who have greater knowledge is best persons” [madhi niraya udayavargal melore] “
But in reality we cannot teach these to students in schools/colleges since when they finish their graduation they face different realities for employment or for professional graduation.
Such government actions has not only aggravated the plight of the deprived citizens, but also put the private educational institutions in a quandary. These private educational institutions were doing a social cause at their own cost, to turn out QUALITY PROFESSIONALS. These institutions run on strict budgetary concepts to attract and retain quality professionals as teachers. But even then some of the colleges have extreme difficulty in retaining quality professionals in the areas of computer science or medicine. Also because of the pursuit of utilizing the professional opportunity, the education institutions will be finally forced to retain professionals worthy of having only the certificate without the actual knowledge. Private institutions, whether an educational institution or otherwise, cannot have deficit budgeting nor it can print currency notes. These institutions will have to stand tall like Ahoka’s stupa especially at the time of tirades and tsunamis in the name of global competition. This will also certainly result in compromising on the quality of the outputs. Presently India boasts well that the Human resources turned out are of good quality but the above said actions of various governments’ paints a gloomy picture of unqualified professionals.
Thirdly, with the cost of education being an ever increasing one in the developed countries, many foreign students may take-up education in India. Hence the government’s policy should be to direct opening of “Education-export processing Zones” on the lines of “Export-processing-Zones”. This will not only increase employment, will also retain the quality professionals in India, rather than such quality professionals choosing to teach foreign universities.
The entire political community, in their pursuit of clinging on to power by offering various favours boasts of stating that they are “Secular” by introduction of these favours measured on the basis of casts/tribes/religion. The real meaning of secular is “’anti-religion’. As per Chambers English Dictionary, ’secularism’ means the belief that the State, morals, education, etc should be independent of religion.
The framers of the Constitution had never used the word `Secular` in our Constitution. THE TERM `SECULAR` WAS INCORPORATED IN THE CONSTITUTION OF INDIA BY THE 42ND AMENDMENT ACT 1976 BY INDIRA GANDHI FOR IMPROVING THE POLITICAL PROSPECTS OF HER PARTY IN AREAS OF MINORITY CONCENTRATION.
Though the word `secular` was not specifically inserted by the framers of our Constitution, yet the objects of secularism in letter and spirit were enshrined in the Articles 25 to 28 of the Constitution i.e., right to freedom of religion under the Fundamental Rights chapter of the Constitution. But sadly enough to many deprived citizens, the constitution was amended not once but many times to favour many based on castes/tribes/religion supported aptly by the
politically motivated “minority commission of various governments. Eminent jurist and writer D D Basu has described the expression `secular` as vague. According” to him the expression `secular` qualifies the expression `republic`. `Secular` means a republic in which there is equal respect, for all religions. The Constitutional authority HM Seervai, also expressed that `secular` may be opposed to `religions` in the sense that a secular State can be an anti-religious State. In this sense the constitution of India is not secular, because it deprives many citizens their fundamental rights due to the fact that the citizen is born in one of the “non-scheduled caste/tribe/religion” Also any law which violates fundamental rights will have to be considered as ultra-vires the Constitution.
ABOVE ALL, SUCH RECOGNITIONS ON THE BASIS OF CASTES/TRIBES CREATE CONSUMATING FORCES WITHIN THE SOCIETY FOR A SECURED DIVIDE, WHICH WILL MAKE IT EASY FOR ANTI-NATIONAL FORCES FROM WITHIN AND WITHOUT INDIA TO FURTHER THEIR OBJECTIVES IN WEAKENING INDIA ECONOMICALY AND SOCIALLY AS WELL.
I, AS A CITIZEN OF THE COUNTRY, HAVE GREAT REGARDS AND RESPECT TO THE PARLIAMENT, its ADMINISTRATORS, THE GOVERNMENT AND YOU AS PRESIDENT OF THE COUNTRY. WHEN THE 103RD CONSTITUTION AMENDMENT WAS INTRODUCED AND PASSED BY THE PARLIAMENT, I EVEN HAD A FAINT DREAM AND WISH THAT THE PRESIDENT MAY REJECT THE AMENDMENT BY NOT GIVING THE APPROVAL.
PRESENTLY I WOULD ONLY REQUEST YOU RECONSIDER YOUR APPROVAL TO SUCH AMENDMENT. IN MY VIEW, WHEN PRESIDENT OF INDIA HAS POWER TO APPRPOVE/DISAPPROVE THE BILLS/AMENDEMENTS TO LAWs, YOU SHOULD ALSO BE HAVING THE POWER TO WITHDRAW SUCH APPROVALS, NOT ONLY FOR THE EARLIER APPROVALS BY YOU AS PRESENT PRESIDENT, BUT ALSO INRESPECT OF THE APPROVALS BY EARLIER PRESIDETS, FOR THE SOLE OBJECTIVE OF NATIONAL INTEREST IN THE NAME OF EUQALITY FOR ALL CITIZENS.
IF THE ENTIRE POLITICAL AND OTHER COMMUNITIES/SOCIETIES WISH TO BRING EQUAL STATUS, THE PARLIAMENT OF INDIA SHOULD, IN MY OPINION, INITIATE DELETING THE CLAUSE “RELIGION” IN THE DATE OF BIRTH. THE CERTIFICATE OF BIRTH OF ANY CITIZEN OF INDIA SHOULD ONLY STATE THAT HE/SHE IS INDIAN. THE PARLIAMENT MAY INTRODUCE RESERVATION OF CATEGORIES BASED ON ECONOMIC CRITERIA ONLY. MAY I SUBMIT MY HUMBLE REQUEST TO YOUR EXCELLENT OFFICE TO ENSURE THE SAME TO EVERY CITIZEN OF INDIA
THANKING YOU, WITH UTMOST REGARDS.
I am working in USA and this is the most shocking news I have in the past couple of months after Tsunami. This is really a very very poor and unmatured decision of the govt. and I am afraid and really feeling soory in saying that this decision might be going to repeat the history, as it was happened once in the time of V.P. Singh Govt. was in power. Why the reservation is ????
If an individual has capability than no body can stop him but if he has nothing, you can’t push him forward on the cost of the brilliant future.
This all is just to gather the votes. But please, I know that we Indians are renowned for our skills and knowledge in foreign and the people over here accept that we have qualities in us. Please not let the whole world down, IIM
and IIT’s are the pride of India, Don’t play with it. India is the Largest growing Nation in the world in each and every sector. These type of decisions will surely demotivate the whole nation’s talent. But it is not a new thing for India, but if India and its people want to prosper in life and compete with the in this world we have to stop this all. Well recently I saw a movie named “Rang de basanti ” and now I think that the message in that movie is 100 % true.
One more thing to be ashamed as an Indian! The growth India could have achieved in 30 years, took 50 years - courtesy Congress! And now we’ve overcome that inertia, they want to put on brakes with this silly bill!
Vote them out! What can we do to make them listen? think tank think!
this whole idea of religion and caste based quotas is nonsense. if u want to support someone, then support the low income groups. further , for entry into premier institutions, they too need to be screened to ensure that only the best of the best get the opportunity to study in such fine places.
worse, the govt wants more backward quota in iims and this is so sad and funny that the once backward castes have everything so easy in life that the so called forward castes are being oppressed. so soon the current forwards castes will become backward and then theyll start quotas for the foward castes also. why dont the govt just select whoever they want and put them in which ever college they want?
I am now waiting for round #2 of reservations, when it will be extended to pvt banks and other pvt companies as well. then prob ill quit my job and enjoy the sun and i can blame the resevation for losing the job. Also the challenge of working in a meritocracy would also have got submerged once idiotocracy would set in on the pvt sector too.
Can we have a snap poll to make the HRD Ministers berth a reserved seat and wish(sic) that the incumbent has better sense.
I am an IITian and am in US. I have been always proud of IIT due to its merit. We guys worked so hard that we are now considered the best in the world. But Indian govt. is now putting us to shame by reserving seats to students without merit. They will benefit form our reputation and destroy IITs. With this dirty congress pseudo-secular govt., we will be eventually get extinct. Arjun Singh needs to be booted out else he will destroy this country without china or Pakistan firing a single shot.
NO to reservation please.i wonder if at all whole caste system can be scrapped and lets make One India One Caste ba any religion.Provide reservation for economically backward people as they cant afford education and hence may not gain in merit .but if a student is socially backward but well off then what is stopping him from getting merit!!!!If we provide reservation for economically backward people the automatically a socially backward person who isn’t enough rich also gets advantage. Also reservation must not exceed 20% at the most.Thats the limit
Can any decision regarding reservatons be challenged in the court .Why dont courtsd give any decision where in asking the government not to discriminate people on basis of caste and provide reservation.Any body please help me in this regard lets move the SUPREME COURT.Lets start a campaign.
ITS NOW OR NEVER!!!!!
I guess if indian govt is thinking the way right now
imagine Indian International Cricket Team and Hockey team Mandatory to have 49.5 percent ppl from ST/SC and OBC. its mandatory. if performance is secondary why not bring them to international cricket and hockey after all sports is indeed part of education system…
Simple worlds Bull S***.. sorry to spoil blog post wid these words..
Moreover if its done it cant be reverted.. thanks to indian political system
Reservation in IIT and IIM : Is this give social justice ?
INDIA: Reservation in IIT and IIM : Is this give social justice ?
Or
Do we need new survey (or study) with the objectives of “Mandal Commission” ?
Yes, due to OBC resevations, now some caste like YADAV have highest percentage in government jobs, MLAs and MPs in comparision of upper castes. Some sections of OBC (for example Yadav’s) are enjoying power of adminitrations and politics since last one decades. They should treated as upper caste otherwise there is no meaning of reservations for OBC or social justice.
However, the particiaptions of majaority of castes of OBC still looking for social justice because of all the benefits of reservations only taken by the some upper castes of OBC.
The study of “Mandal Commission“ is too old and socio-economic condtions of the India and OBC are not same as it was at the time of Mandal Commision. So many castes of OBC now have highest representations in governments job, educations and polictics in comparison with upper castes (General category). In this era of India’s economic revolution, prosperity and development, the peaple of OBC who really needs reservations and social justice, but todays the OBC reservations only enjoyed by the upper castes of OBC. The lower caste of OBC are just use as Vote Bank to capitalised and exploite the reservation issue. The lower cast OBC is still for away from mainstreams, development and social upliftment even they are discriminated by the upper caste of OBC.
Now, a new commistion is needed to find out (or study)
1. percentage for lower OBC castes in goverment jobs/educations/services.
2. Findout the Upper castes of OBC who are now at the par with Upper Caste (e.g.Brahmin, Kaystha, Vaisya andKshatriya) in goverment jobs/educations/services to give recommendation for excludation from OBC reservation.
3. to find out the time factor or duration of revesvations for each and every caste of OBC. This will provide a posive and rapid socio-economic opportunities and social justice to all OBCs.
Its high time to findout Lower Cast OBC to give them benefits of reservations inspite of just showing them lollypop of OBC reservation. For this, the leaders who belong to the UPPER CASTE OBC must come forward in favour of LOWER CASTE OBC, ask to the government to exclude the upper caste of OBC from resevations benefit as they are not need this support. And give the reservations to the lower caste of OBC.
-Kaushal
As a Muslim who qualified from one of these premier institutions, without the help of any reservation, and as a member of a middle class family of many successful professionals who have come up without the help of reservation, it is my duty to oppose this kind of stupid appeasment policies of the Congress. Perhaps, there is a hidden agenda for Manmohan and Arjunsingh to finish Muslims from the intelligentia of India through a deceptive strategy. I oppose the reservation. I request my fellow Indians of all communities to fight Manmohan and Arjunsingh for this nasty decision and not the poor Muslims.
Do you think we (the middle class Indian) really have a right to oppose this move. Come on, when it comes to going and voting for a government of our choice, we comfortably snuggle up in our home and enjoy the holiday. However, these OBCs and SCs and STs, for whom the government is planning to create the reservation goes out and votes.
Come on, everybody knows this is vote bank politics. We are damned that we don’t go and vote. So the government can safely take such STUPID moves, coz they can rest assured that the middle class India is only gonna write blogs from air conditioned cyber cafes, but will never move its butt out and vote.
Oh and by the way, if your still wondering, I oppose the governments move tooth and nail. I really don’t think that Congress even has the right to call itself a secular outfit. BJP is way better, at least they spoil the social fabric without saying that they are mending it.
Oh and by the way, is there any law in our country that allows a person to change his caste??? I think here’s a cool opportunity for me to use it.
And hey, when is the next announcement due. I bet its gonna be about reservations in our cricket team, then next this is gonna be that the fashion shows should have 49% models belonging to the backward castes. Next, ummmm… I’d better leave it at this.
Its sad that OBC’s like Kaushal (above) and others of his kin are now starting a new debate of OBCs, Maha OBCs and the rest. The fact is that there is only one thing - meritocracy.
We know the state of affairs of PSU and “sarkari” places full of OBCs SC STs and their ilk. The mess these guys have created is visible. Imagine what ll happen when they scurry all over the place. When it comes to utilizing reservation these guys jump at it, but afterwards try to come to the mainstream by hiding the very fact that they are quota candidates
Hi,
I Feel that this concept of reservation is absolutely nonsense.
It has always been the handiwork of congress govt right from the independence.
Why do not these people think of the country in a better way instead of looking for the short term election gains.
Irrespective of any one being Dalit or Non Dalit should oppose the reservation.
If Same thing continues I do not see any future for this country.
NO MORE ANY RANG DE BASANTI!!!
I am eagerly waitnag for thre day to send the ex alumnis muslims of AMU to gas chambers and concentration camps.
Reservations …
The race for PM post among senior Congress leaders, Pranab Mukherjee and Arjun Singh took an ugly turn. Both can’t fight elections. If one is winning with with mercy of Left in West Bengal other lost in Madhya Pradesh. If one is brahmin other is a Takur (They have done more harm to upper classes, then anyone before). Both don’t have people’s madate yet their greed for Prime Minister knew bounds.
Especially Arjun Singh, a champion for the cause of muslims in the country. A mulla in disguise of a Hindu. Now he trying a kick start mandal -2 yet again with his destructive agenda. An agenda, which divides the country on the narrow lines of caste and religion, an agenda, which undermines the merit in this country, an agenda, which keeps the country burning forever. What is all this for, just for that Kursi. If we blame, BJP for communalism, these psuedo secularists are even dangerous, because they use secularism tag for their selfish ends.
Already they created mistrust and suspicion among Indians. They don’t even have minimum respect for constitution and judiciary. Now, its very difficult for Other Castes (OCs) to fight for justice. This is the punishment for having born as so called Upper Classes. Now for a poor - meritorious student, commit suicide or take up arms or become militant or leave this country.
If you don’t want do all the above. At least open your mouth and voice your sentiment. The time has arrived for all general classes to be united. Our aim is clear, outrightly condemn and boot out these shameful and dubious people. Whose intention is not for upliftment of people but divide them and destroy them for sake of their power.
This is the agony of victim of reservation
Thank God I left India 5 years back. All people who feel they are qualified enough should should leave this country ASAP.. stop dreaming to be a super power.. this is country only for corrupt, un-qualified and uneducated people. it’s really a hopeless country as far as govt policies is concern..think of India without IT.. & you won’t find nothing. soon it will be reality. bring these SC/ST reservations.. it would again be a dark age country.. i am lucky i left it.. if you feel you are qualifed.. & then you don’t stand a
chance there..so better leave it !!!…
Hi
This is the worst kind of policiy the Indian Govt. is using. The britisher’s taught us to divide and conquer and the politians of India are perfecting it….I heard this line in show and look how true it is..By using this policiy the people of India will now know who is a OBC and who is a SC/ST. This will bring a large divide. Why is the Indian Government taking care of caste system. I think the Indian govt. should look to people who are econocmically backward. What has the Indian Govt. done in the villages. Look at the people there and see that they attain a good status..lets fight for this damn cause and lets remove discremination on the basis of caste and creed….
I am a final year engineering student. i am pleasantly surprised by all the comments that i have read about the reservations being made in IIT and other institutes. i think if the government really wants to help a certain section of our society then it should do so by giving then icentives and scholarships not reservations. muslims are an integral part of our country and everyone of shoud feel this. instead the government is making them feel small and alienated in their own country. the weaker sections of the society need to be strengthened and this cannot be done by continuously making them feel inferior. Many muslim students have also condemned this act of the government which is a step in the right direction.
The concept of reservations was orignally introduced so that we could take everyone of our communities along and move towards prosperity and tehnical advancment. rather than implementing it in the right spirit our politicians have used it to play vote bank politics.
i congratulate everyone who has taken time out to protest aginst this move and also urge every student across the nation to make his or her voice heard.
it is now or never so wake up!!
I am an engineer from BHUIT and my son is final year student at IIT, so I know what IIT is. IIT is most wanted because of its reputation and market value which was earned by quality of its students, naturally by reservation its reputation and market value will take nose dive. IIT students are cream and normally toppers of school and boards, reserved category students will always have inferiority complex, more over in IITs there is comparative marking where reserve category students will be at much lower ranks, these things will upset them and instead of doing any good to them it will harm more. I, suggest -instead of any reservation, enhance OBC candidate’s score in JEE by 10% and then put them in merit list.
Boycott all those parties who have so many general caste Mp’s but they dont protest and sitting like Bhisma When Draupadi was being dragged. If all we get after voting and electing them is silence and no protest, better vote for Mayawati like people so that our Mp’s wud get a lesson.
Friends,
I feel that now the upper castes are being targeted for something they never did- discrimination. In metropolitan cities, who cares about caste anyways. People are getting married out of their castes have firends from different backgrounds. Reservations for OBCs will only re-ignite the hatred and widen the divide that people are slowly but surely forgetting. Why should anyone be given reservation? Everyone should compete and win a place for himself fairly - be it education or job.
The government is putting its responsibilitiy on our shoulders. We pay taxes, we abide by the law and for that we (and our children) are being punished becase we happen to be from the so-called upper caste.
Is the government really concerned about the plight of the poor and needy in Orissa, Andhra Pradesh or Jharkhand. What have they done to promote a good life for the people living on the streets? All the leaders are corrupt and are only interested in fattening their own bank balances. This is a political gimmick and the SC,ST and OBCs should realise that this kind of a thing is not going to help them in the long run.
You cant put a hard working student at a disadvantage just because he was born to a general class parents. What about individual rights?
If you raise the level of an OBC candidate by giving him some sort of reservation( as the mean politicians declare), by logic his children will be born in a family raised to the level of general class and should not be provided any reservation.
The fathers of the constitution never wanted reservations to be a permanent feature of india but today it is an irreversible change unless the whole crop of cheap politicians are rooted out.
We students have the responsibity to save our country from such incurable cancers. We shoud not let the politicians take us as what they think we are; a bunch of unconcerned idiots. We shud not refrain from voting or be a mute observer of political system. There is nothing wrong in politics. There is nothing wrong in airing your views vehemently.
Not only we , the teachers and professors of institutions like IITs , IIMs and top universities can put the government to shame
by collectively refusing this reservation policy. A lot lies in their hands and they have to stand up for the cause of their motherland.
first of all this announcement of resrevation is not specifically for the muslims. i think the author is a man who likes and dislikes muslims at the same time. i agree as a muslim to some of the things he suggested but he should look at the larger picture of how polititians(UPA, JD, BJP, ET AL) have come together and deviced a way of getting the wards of their OBC leaders who were unable to get into IIT’S, IIM’S, and other good institutes have joined together in destroying the image of our great institutions and me think that they will succeed.

Japan was ruined and recovered within 25 years to stand to threaten advanced countries like US, UK and other european countries and has become a force to reckon with. Ask them if they ever had any reservation system in place. Or even ask any other advance country if they had any such vauge reservation system based on catse or backwardness. A big answer is NO.
I strongly feel that Indian politicians are using this for their own vested interest and not have capabilities to improve upon basic education system. Some poinsts to know from them are :
1)What are the figures of improvements of the resrvation system which has been in place for past 59 years?
2) What are the plans for spending the education cess they are leving from the tax payers?
3)Whay have they failed so far to create a good basic education system all around the country? Why do not they extend scholrships and free educations to all poors who are from all the communities.
4) Why should they have right to tear apart the people in this country and create unrest among the society?
5) Is there any single SC?ST leader who have helped their own near and dears to improve their educations? HAs any of these ever helped financially to those need it around them?
6) By bringing quota system in high profile image creating institutes around the world, how will they ensure that student under quota system will perform at par with other students who have come on the basis of theri performance. Will they create quota based question papers in exams also.
7) Who will answer to external world about the poor performers from these very very reputed institues? I feel these institutes are the face of our country, nobody from external world will like to see it if it becomes ugly.
Are not the trying to woo our highly intelectual honble.president by bringing mulims under the perview of the resrevation, to get the bill cleared by him on this sensitive and sentiment provoking issue.
9)Why our politician wants to give these so called dalits/backwards cluthes to remain rather allowing them to stand on their own feets having theri own strengths? Are they not making them lethargic and less effective and efficient?
10) What about creamy layer among these classes? I think they must stop those taking advantage of this who already have become sefl dependent and do not need it. Are they not making their wards week enough to remain dependent on reservation rather performances?
11) And last but not the least : what are their firm plans to enhance the educaion system among the mass? Why the money goes to corrupted politicians but not to the uplift of these forever?
12) I am sure everybody knows the fact that they could not get the benifits of reservation in jobs so far hence how will they ensure the success in education also?
13) How long they would keep on creatin such a devide among people of our country?
14) Is there any way to check their geerdinees for votes using caste based or section based resrvations? will there be any end to it?
15) I was amazed at teh statement of the well doing dalit professional defending the reservation system just because their own children whther perform or not keep on getting education and jobs without making any effort. And why should they if they get everything without doing anything significant.
16) Why India is slow in progress : because those who get jobs and promotion becuase of being SC/ST/OBC even without any performance hence ingnore the work and those who are from general catagory do not perform under frustration as they feel whether I work or not the promotion or job is going to be givn to reserved candidates. Hence neither is performing.
I think through our opinions and resistance we can give them a feel that they can not take us for granted forever. They will have to perform and perform to improve the common man and also the bew=low common man. How many of our so called dalit leaders do not use Ac cars? All of them use at the expense of those for whom they pretend to fight for.
Please remember we all want them to succeed and come forward but not by making them ineffcient and in-effective for ever. We all love them. I pary to almighty God to geive enough wisdom to our politicians not to pull the safety pin of the devide bomb, they are trying to explode. God bless them with the right wisdom to work for uplift of the poors but not the castes/sections and devide the nations. I feel they are no less than english who used the system of : devide and rule for 200 years.
We love our people and the country and wish that God save us from these politicians. True Patriotism is the need of the hour.
best regards,
Well.Government is also considering introducing reservations in Private Jobs. And its unfortunate that all the political parties are supporting the decision as they fear of losing the OBCs votes.
Now what the corporates can do…..implement the reservations and pay salaries for those who are not even capable of getting into jobs through merit!!or move to some other countries where they get employees based on talent.I think they definetly opt for the second choice.
Hi,
I was in my college 1st Year when the Mandal-I struck us in full face.
I was doing my Grad in Commerece, though it did not make much of a difference to me as i was not in the Engg/ Med/ Other courses, i understood the plight of the mid-level students who do not fall in the Quota category.
It is a shame that our leaders say that they follow our Constitution writers, but actually use certain lines some times for their own selfish use. It was written in the Constitution that the Quotas will be there only for a period of 25 years after which everything will be status quo.
Consider this——–
1. How many of you guys will ever ask what is the caste of your friend?
2. How many of you will leave a friend based on his caste?
3. In your work place do you know what caste is your boss or your subordinate or your collegue?
Let us grow out of this, let us PROTEST AGAINST THIS… i accept that there was unfair treatment of certain castes by certain castes in pre-independance era, but now we are not even bothered……I would rather suggest that everything especially in Education be made free for Quota students……If they are eligible to get a seat, no charges, even give scholarship for their sustainance……
Govt could even think of paying the fees for the private tutions that a Quota student would like to take……..That is a level playing field……..
We are talking big now a days Global Village…….. Why are we in our own back yard killing our competativeness and giving the meritorius students a chance to leave India………
Please think on these lines……..
I maight be repeating some points that others told, but i am only asserting my views……….
hi,
what a shame that i voted for this selfish congress party whose only interest lie in procuring votes to remain in power.
they want to jeopardize the future of our intelligent youth for the sake of those who are not willing to put in enough effort and hard work to raise themselves in life.
a 40 percenter ,is not because of his caste ,creed or colour but only because he lacks the will to do better in life.A CHILD WITH A COMPETITIVE SPIRIT will do well irrespective of his caste.there are many who have achieved in spite of their poor backgrounds .
after 50 years of independence we are pushed back and reminded how helpless we are .what a pity that governance change but mentality remains the same .the british followed the policy of divide and rule and so does the congress party.they want to further divide on the basis of caste.
government education has failed to creat better educated students
government has failed to provide better jobs
government has failed to provide all its citizens potable water ,electricity and infrastructure .
so it decide to create confusion and choas to hide their shortcomings
WHAT A GOVERNMENT !
GOD SAVE THE COUNTRY.
Mr. Rajasekar, whatever you say is good to a certain extent but think of the real facts. Even if the system is to be of the case as you are speaking of, it is not only the economically deprived who are going to enjoy the benefits but everyone under the ring. what happens in that case to another, student from the same economic status but will be deprived of an education that he is worth hjust for the fact that he does’nt fit in the Quota. Is’nt that against the entire concept of equality promised by the Indian constitution.
If at all we have a concience we must not allow to remain in a thatched shed with kids roaming around half clad. The real happiness comes when our whole country is prosperous and our people are well fed and taken care off. Only then we can feel proud to be an Indian. Our leaders and beauracrats must understand this in proper perspectiv to create a dynamic vibrant and prosperous India. In reality, they fool the poor by reservation policy, free dhothi, saree and Tvs AND RIce at cheap rate in short they yry to make our countrymen beggers. Our people are too gullible to vote for these crooks, who really swindle the taxpayers’ money in such cheap gymicks. A real patriotic political party must get rid of corruption by strictly enforcing death penality for the corrupt.China is creating a top class University to push their citizens forward. Our chaps want to destroy few institutions like IIT and IIMs. My appeal to Sonia Ghandi is to get rid rid of old manipulative polititions, who have no other aim in life except to continue in power. Some of them may convert to OBC to ensure future prospects for their generations to come. India may and should become a showpiece like any other western country by ensuring education for all. Religions and caste must be kept inside the 4 walls of the home. Any one who whips up caste/reliegious card must be hanged in public not after years of court battle but the next day. JAI HIND
wish when the fat bastard arjun singh is on hi his deathbed, some dumb SC/ST/OBC (read non merit dumb ass) doctor is attending to him… and this creation of his leaves scissors or some shit behind in his brains so that this brain dead minister.. good riddance
next time you guys visit docs be sure to check that the bastard sitting out there could be some quota candidate who could kill you with his/her bird brain logic instead of treating you..
ditto for those of you planning to use services of some investment advisors coz i ve a serious doubt that these quota generation would be able to distinguish b/w a lakh and a crore…
To uplift social status of SC/ST/OBC/Muslims it is not acceptable to bargain on quality of IITs/IIMs, whereas, govt should provide cheaper quality education to all.
I am completely agree with Vas Raman (50).
If one goes through Gandhiji’s autobiography, one realizes that not a single Indian politician has literally worked among the masses for their upliftment the way he did. To penalize meritorious students for their own inefficiency and laziness and introducing reservations is to miss the wood for the trees. Indian Stalwarts like Krishmanurthy, Osho, Shri Aurobindo and Swami Vivekanand have stated that the real purpose of education is to direct the student after looking at his inner potential. (See link - Make your passion your profession) The politicians of today are too lazy to do all that and that is why they have come out with such artificial gimmicks like reservation which will infact stop the meritorious students from realizing their potential. It is a shame that such a thing could even be contemplated when both the head of government and the head of the state are individuals with impeccable meritorious credentials.
Dear brothers and sisters, I am happy for the opinions you have raised. We have all outrightly condemned this reservation menace. Just condemning is not enough, as these narrow-minded politicians will continue to pursue their divisive agenda to their logical conclusion.
* We have to explain the consequence of reservations in all the public fora.
* On the lines of SC, ST, BC and Minority groups, we need to unify general classes and build similar community groups, to raise our voice against the injustice and help poor - meritorious students who are at disadvantage due to these reservations.
* Intensify our campaign using all sources of communications like SMS, Blogs, Email, pamphlets, letters to editors, whatever may be the tool, out voice should be loud and clear.
* Be careful at politicians (especially so called upper class selfish and psuedo secular politicians). Reject them, vote them out of power. These politician are doing greater harm to general classed, just to cling on to their chairs. The hypocratic - shameless - dangerous - corrupt - inept politicians should not be tolerate. Expose them
Pls remember that all the noise we are making is shouting to a deaf man. As these politicians like Arjun Singh, Pranab Mukherjee, Leftists other regional parties continue their political gimmicks. At first place communist parties follow reservations in their own party, the women representation among communists is absymmal and their polit bureau is dominated upper castes. First you stop preaching to others and start reforming in your own party. Same is the case with congress, BJP and other regional parties. These political parties are hypocrates and are cheating people. We condemn all these parties.
he is right .
reservation in premier institutes is not the way to improve the conditions of the backward classes.primary education must be given more importance.
[...] So Congress tells Muslims that Hindus are ill-treating them; BSP, RJD, DMK etc. tell the “lower” castes that they have to fight the “higher” castes; regional parties ask their people to fight those from other states such as Shiv Sena is against Biharis; and DMK asks the Tamilians to fight Hindi-speaking North India! And yet we have the temerity to harp on “Unity in Diversity”. Whither unity? With what in mind are we flooding every page of school textbooks with this meaningless phrase “Unity in Diversity”? The latest to attack this evanescent unity is the Congress Party’s or Arjun Singh’s pet theme of reservations for Muslims and the so-called “lower” castes in IITs, IIMs and other Central Universities, preceded by the fervent race to give Aligarh Muslim University “minority” status. [...]
for gaurav:
going by your logic, all the doctors who have until now, left implements behind in patients’ bodies have been SC/St, and all those doctors who have killed patients thro negligence /error have been SCs/STs?
all of u guys going hysterical- so far only the “meritorious” have run the country (since quota seats are never filled). So how come the country is in such a mess?
The last and faintest of hopes that I had of seeing a developed India is Gone. OMG India has gone to dogs. Its being distributed by “Dogs to Dogs”. I hope you get the meaning!!. Im sorry about the mention of the second Dogs as such but that is what it is. They are taking the bread from meritorius students and throwing it to the undeserving students (if at all they are students). What the hell is happenning. I guess eventually there will be doctors who wont even know where the hell is a heart in a the body and there will be engineers who doesnt even know the fundamentals of newtonean physics and there will be god damn politicians who will be much stupid and fkin idiotic than what there are today!!!. I guess all people still in their minds get the hell out of India and go to other countries and let the politicians treat themselves with the above mentioned doctors and their families travel over a bridge that was built by the aboave mentioned engineer and let their stupid offsprings be ruled by above mentioned politicians. India has gone to dogs dogs and stupid dogs.
All our dreams about a bright future is there no more. Our proud past and our golden culture and our great minds are not any more associated with the subcontinent any more. Great India is a dream that will probably remain as dream forever. Unless… somehow theres a revolution.
I am ashamed of being an Indian not because I was born in India.. just because I am being ruled by mindless morons and fkin stupid crowd in wich not even a single mind is read to know what morolity is.
may God save India which means God slay Indian politicians.
GOD DAMN DONT TOUCH IITS and IIMS. YOU LL END UP IN HELL FOR THIS SIN. THE GREATEST SIN u CAN EVER COMMIT TOWARDS INDIA GODDAMN ARJUN SINGH!!
ok man JP. i answer ur question that u asked gaurav. In a country of billions u … there ll be mistakes. u stupid man this itself proves how illogical u are and how the god damn poor ur IQ is. I am sure if u come to party u ll do the same thing. Why the hell you wnat reservations when u are not able to clear the goddamn exam the institute administers as an enterring standard.
Anser this question u illogical retard. Ther is an exam (ther is an operation). OBC is not able to clear (OBC kills the patient). what the fuck u suggest!!! answer me u. why the hell u dont understand this is ur country too. its not just the country of ur caste. Its the country that once belonged to great people like swami vivekananda, CV raman, aryabhatta, (maybe gandhi), emperor ashoka… the goddamn muslims come as the first dogs and then comes the goddamn british and now sprouts the goddamn politicians who sought to see the favor of goddamn OBCs and muslims.
and yeah, everyone who said that middle class doesnt vote. ofcourse i dont like congress. but what if i voted BJP. they were there in the parliment when the bill got passed rite. why the hell they did not raise any voice. even if we voted bjp, they will eventually do the same thing to prove (or pretend) that they are not against muslims so they could get the vote bank and an edge over congress. our politicians are all screwed up.
i dont think i should waste my time answering u Mr JP … be damned .. ive been to two premier institutes in India .. an Engg insti and an MBA insti.. but ive failed to see any “sane” reserved category person over there.. all of them were laggards who brought the entire class average down .. and who used to use there dumb logic everywhere.. Boss if you wanna fly a flying saucer without knowing how to pedal a bike.. only ur mayawatis and mulayams and others save ya…
This is the time to take some action. These politicians have always taken us for a ride. They have left no stone untirned to ruin our career and life. These dirty votebank politics will for sure ruin the country. They least care about our opinions. We raised our voice during Mandal 1, they didn’t listen. We burned ourselves they didn’t care. They kept sitting in their A/C chambers showing least concern. They don’t care whether we live or die. Today its reservation in education, tomorrow it’ll be reservation in private sector. They won’t let us study, they won’t let us find a job. We have been made as outcasts in our own country.
It’s time to HIT BACK. They don’t understand the language of peaceful protests. We have tried that so many times and failed. They only understand the language of voilence. I am ready to be a HUMAN BOMB and take down with me atleast one of Arjun Singh, VP Singh, Mayawati or Meira Kumar. Me and friends have already started planning in this regard. Let’s save the country, lets kill the enemy even if it means riots with SC/ST/OBC
The chances of getting into premier institutes is dimmer for us thanks to reservations. But we work hard to get into such insitutions. After that the chances of getting a job is less because reservations eat away our opporunities. But again we try hard to get into jobs competing with people who couldn’t do the job even offered.Later, again, reservations come into picture, this time depriving of the promotions.Where is the end of this and who will put an end to all these stupid vote bank politics?
Sameer,
No this debate is not anti-muslim or anti-congress (although I am up for the anti-muslim, anti-congress one anyday
). The debate is about Congress’ agenda to ruin one crowning jewel of India, our premiere institutions.
I agree with Gaurav that people who come on quotas to these educational institutions are not worth a penny. Most of the times these people go out of these institutions and get lost in the real world achieving nothing spectacular (because they were not extraordinary to begin with). How many times have you heard a SC/ST/OBC guy make a name for himself after coming out of IIT on a quota sit?
The whole premise of caste/religion based reservations is wrong. IITs today do not deny admission to an individual because s/he is SC/ST/OBC. They deny it because they are not bright enough. My husband went to IIT and he came from a very low income Hindu-Brahmin family. He could go to IIT because he topped JEE, no thanks to his father’s money or lack thereof. Similarly, what stops a Muslim or an SC-ST-OBC guy to go to an IIT, if they are bright? Just clear the JEE and stand on the merit list first, and believe me, all the economic help that you need will pour! How many stories have we heard of a really bright student not being able to attend IIT because he had no money? None.
No reservations are required. No economic help is required too. Let the government create and subsidize a financial institution that grants educational loans for poor students at 0% interest. If you are coming from an ultra-poor family, regardless of whether you are a Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, or SC-ST-OBC, you can get into any institution in our country so long as you prove your worth. In such a system everyone can rest assured that lack of financial resources would be the last reason why you couldn’t attend our world-class institutions.
Rags.
Reservation by religion is absurd. Creamy top of SC ST & B.Classes should be skimmed off. The Govt shd attempt to spend more on education, not reserve on what we have.Whether one wants to become a Govt officer or a business man or industrialist is a matter of personal taste. What is it that the Govt is attempting? Can this minister think properly, cogently at his age? Does he understand the harm he is doing to the serious minded students? This congress has ruled this country too long and reduced it to rack and ruin. It is time that they go.
This is the time to take some action. These politicians have always taken us for a ride. They have left no stone untirned to ruin our career and life. Let’s save the country, lets kill the enemy even if it means riots with SC/ST/OBC
I’m a Muslim and I can’t accept this. It is outrageous that politicans are trying to reap the benefits out of this whole reservation scheme. By doing this the govt is NOT really achieving much in helping any backward class people but instead this practice would destroy the morales of ST/SC/OBC/MOCS students, and just induce them to look forward merely to those reservation schemes, it wont help them at all to be really competitive. And not only that, this practice would destroy the reputation of those highly reputed institutes plus the zeal of the real hard working students. IMHO, what is acceptable is to create a situation where SC/ST/OBC/MOBC students have the opportunity to expand their knowledge, the zeal to expand their knowledge, the environment to grow intellectually which would enable them to compete with other NON ST/SC students without any reservations to apply for education at highly reputed institutions like IIT, IIM etc. The govt should work on that direction rather than the reservation schemes which would only benefits the politician.
This is how people with intent to kill are spawned.
Absolutely docile people turned into aggressive beasts.
This is how communalism is created.
How different is this from the divide and rule policy of the Britons that we curse all day?
And to think we voted these loosers in to power? Shame on us! Shame on us all!!!
There is a new website http://www.dostpost.com that allows current students and alumni of IITs and IIMs to link up and there is also a national discussion board that is currently debate on the reservations issue. Thought people might be curious given the spirited comments on this blog.
you make some similar points to all the verbal tussle on http://www.dostpost.com
I see a lot of young people stating how wrong the Government is but ths is the Government you elected. We need the youth of India to stand up and enmass get rid of the current batch of politicians and creat a new group of Bharti leaders. It is time we shed our shackles to the corruption put in place by our Muslim-British past and go back to our Vedic roots as leaders of the world.
Don’t curse the darkness but be a light and help lead our nation out of ignorance and take charge of the world. Indians all across the planet have proved we have the know how to do so but the political system in India has made sure we remain a third world power.
Concquor ignorance thru knowledge as sated in Isa Upinishad and bring Bharta back to its position as a source of all in this world.
i am a muslim youth ,n i dont think that i am backward , i use to see my friends who r from reserved seat in my institution with a doubt that they do not deserve to be here coz they dont have those skills which are required for a good engineer ,if someone questions my abilities i will be ashamed , after reservations for the muslims , i will be ranked in the same way as i use to rank others , How can i tolerate this ?? never ,
On the other side if we look , yes for the muslim today in India it is not possible to get a good job becoz of the communal feeling pertaining at every level from government to Ngos , I know many muslim candidates who made into the interviews of exams like PSC , UPSC but were rejected in interview , may be becoz they were muslim …….. this feeling should be erased from the minds of the people , how can an educated person can be sooo narrow minded ? if the government really wants the muslim in IIT’s IIM’s n in Govt Services ,they should remove communalism from our country , then i am sure you will find muslims at all level
Hi sooraj,
What you have expressed is very much true.We are left with only certain fields not influenced by reservations and we are able to get the real gems from there.these politician for there selfish motives are preying on them now.I think if they succeed it would be injustice to students who are really brilliant as many such students will not get a fair chance to get a seat.if the goverment thinks of reservation policy it should not be on caste basis but on financial basis.Encouragement should be given to students of all castes to study. There are so many students in OC’s who are brilliant but can’t study due to lack of funds. If it is said that caste discimination was prevailant at sometime in history and justice is being done now.By all these policices is the government not following the same principle of discrimination? Then what justice are they talking about? They say India is a democratic country and all citizens rea equal. When the basic fundementals of the constitution are not being followed by the government is it not trying to disrespect the constitution. When students stand up together they can save the country.Instead of dividing the people and putting them up against each other a capable government would help people overcome the existing differences.Do you think it would be justifiable to have such people sit in the revered high posts of the country and play with the sentiments of people? It’s the youth who should clean the system and teach a lesson to such people who are dividing the country. They are no betetr than the Britishers who used such tactics for there selfish benefits!
This is a matter of great concern from me .I migrated to the US for further studies last year . Indian govt and Mr. Arjun Singh has to realize that Islam is a religion which bring into effect one principle “Get the best to do the best Job”, not to mention the Gulf countries are power house economies in Asia , which proud themselves with the saying “only expatriates should work”,eventhough they pay the price with high employment rates of their own citizens.
Reservation would bring a disaster to the entire community and put it back by another 100 years. It would be better if the Indian Govt, instead stopped its 50 years hepocrisy against our comunity , treating them as second grade citizens , revoke its Dracion anti-terrorism laws which are being used to target the community (in Kashmir , Gujrat , Maharasthra & North East particulary ) , recently a new concept has emereged in this govt’s Era “project muslims as scape goats fro various bomb blast in Mumbai trains , Hyderabad mosque, Malegaon , etc. “These blast had nothing to do with the comunity and were a result of failed DIPLOMATIC efforts of the present govt with “UNCLE SAM” on the nuclear front. Entire world knows that .
The best thing the govt can do is give more scholaships to various Muslim students , especially in the feilds of Medicine, Architecture , Accountany , Bussiness Administration , Engg, Biotech and other Professional feilds which contribute to “Nation Builing”.This should
be done with immediate effects rather than constructing only “minority insitiutes ” which in the long run have only isolated the communities youth . It should make provisons that Muslim children are well represented in Private &reputed schools in the locality, rather than spending money on those “Stupid Urdu medium Schools ” . the Concept of Urdu schools is outdated, these schools fail to bring the community up the ladder and instead lead to its isaolation and backwardness.
One more initiative it can take is allow foreign investment in Primary education , irrespective of favour to any comunity .It also need to cuts ” RED TAPE ” in education .If the Govt can instead allow Foreign investment in Primary education, cut RED TAPE with STRICT SAFE_GAURDS that all communities and especially the underprivellaged are Equally represented ,then it will be a big boom for all of us . It will give the Muslims living abroad and oppurtunity to come one step forward and serve their community and the country on a whole . Muslim from India living in the Gulf , Europe and the Americas are particularly concerned about the communites future , since they have considered the Indian Govt. Itself as the biggest roadblock in the communities development .
Hey what happned to quota for Christians and Bramins. Bramins and Christians also should demand quota.

Well This was the last I could have thought of from Indian politics . Reservations for the whole community of Muslims . It’s enough now . First SC,ST’s ,now OBC’s and Muslims . What next??. I mean this wholeidea of promoting backward classes does’nt seems correct to me. I mean if you want to promte them why not donate them some charity . I am sure we Indians who are not in reserved category will donate generously for this fund , so these people no more eat out the positions that we all Indians have equal right to compete for. I mean these petty politician have’nt spared even IIT’s of there greed. Just imagine the plight of that general class student who will be devoid of seat in IIT just becuase it has been eaten away by some reserved category class student who could not secure even 25% of what that general class student could .
I urge the think tank of IIT to come strongly against this step of congress .
