The great Indian middle class…

…growing at a rapid rate. There are a few million ascending into the middle class every year. This reflects the robust growth of the economy.

But of course, this also is evidence to the rising wealth among India’s poor. The lower class people are slowly, but steadily, entering the lower middle class - which is a big jump in status.

Almost all urban households now have a phone, be it mobile! And most also have a TV - who goes without seeing “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi”?

This is a very healthy trend and is one of the biggest advantages of globalization. It is globalization that is driving a lot of money into India today - and though these moneys get percolated among the high class people, some of it eventually trickle down to the poor.

This is the biggest reason why Vajpayee’s BJP/NDA govt. should not have been sacked - the effective policies under their regime were much faster and more robust than the present Congress-Communist combine. Only if the BJP/NDA were given a little more time, the poor would have realized that Vajpayee does have enough hindsight to be our leader.

More jobs are coming our way. A lot more money is coming - all of which was plundered in the bygone centuries by foreign plunderers. I’m not saying we’re going to see the Golden India that our history shows us, at least I’m not saying it yet…
