MPs fight in Parliament again embarrassing Indians across the world

I was embarrassed and laughed aloud on reading the headline on BBC’s website: Indian MPs almost come to blows.

The members of the two parties shouted at each other and in a fit of anger, Mr Yadav’s party colleague and brother-in-law, Sadhu Yadav, rushed towards Mr Singh. He was stopped by other members.

Another angry RJD member hurled a sound box at his party rivals but it failed to hit anyone.

An angry Prabhunath Singh handed his resignation from the House to the Speaker and walked out.

The Speaker refused to accept the resignation, saying he would talk Mr Singh round later.

Mind you, I was not shocked. This is rather routine behaviour exhibited by our lawmakers. Why, they will put the zoo animals to shame!

Only yesterday my father was telling me that Indian members of Parliament should have a code of conduct. I am generally against rules. I said all they should do is behave decently. But this seems to be far too difficult for them.

Will a code of conduct help? Definitely NOT. Aren’t our MPs famous for ignoring or even changing laws to suit their tastes? Aren’t they famous for throwing microphones and chairs around in Parliament? Moreover, who sit in our Parliament – many of them are noted criminals and thugs, even canvassing for elections from the jail.

When millions of people show as much respect as electing you to be the MP of the largest democracy in the world, the least you can do is to behave decently like a human being with common sense. Is this too much to ask?

The MPs and MLAs should have minimum qualifications, free from corruption, free from criminal charges, cases and background. They shall not be selfish. Politics is a service to the Nation and not a moneymaking busimess as it has turnd out to be. The era of Gandhi, Nehru, Patel has gone and are the days of Laloos,Pawars and Singhs who are looters and we are ashamed to bwe ruled by such thugs and looters. Our poor millions are struggling to have a square meal a day and these thugs are free outside making a laughing stock of democracy. These are people to be inside Jails.Unfortunately in India those whu deserve jail are in Parliament and assemblies and good people are in prisons, imprisoned by their daily needs and worries of self and family existence. How ironic? Do we need a military rule or disciplined leaders who are selfless to lead the Nation into prosperity,Equality,Liberty and fraternity?

A shady law under the making to supposedly make judges more accountable was introduced in parliament by our corrupt politicians. Its only purpose is to prevent the independent judiciary from questioning the corrupt political establishment. We must start a campaign to prevent this law from taking effect.
