Now Indians Divide and Rule India with Reservations

There was a time when the Mughals invaded India and plundered, slaughtered and converted. Thus came about Indian Muslims.

Then the British invaded India and plundered more, slaughtered less and converted too. But what they did best was they divided India along all sorts of lines - religion, caste, language, region etc.

And Indians despised the British Raj for this. These pale-skinned honkies came and taught us Indians to fight amongst ourselves and kill our own brothers.

And then they all left, the Mughals got assimilated and the British left India to the dark-skinned wogs. All this we call history.

But what does not seem to have left us is the British policy. Not only in all public spheres as economy, law, education and government do we ape them, but we also seem to have clung on to their very undesirable policy of Divide-and-Rule.

Best seen in the political sphere, which therefore influences everything else, India’s lawmakers are very keen to carve votes out of Bharat Mata by slicing and mutilating her.

Reservations. One thing that the politicians have learnt is to reserve quotas in education and employment for all those communities that stick together to form vote banks. So the communities that are very well-knit such as the tribals, many occupational castes, and the lucrative chunk of Muslims get covered.

So Congress tells Muslims that Hindus are ill-treating them; BSP, RJD, DMK etc. tell the “lower” castes that they have to fight the “higher” castes; regional parties ask their people to fight those from other states such as Shiv Sena is against Biharis; and DMK asks the Tamilians to fight Hindi-speaking North India!
And yet we have the temerity to harp on “Unity in Diversity”. Whither unity? With what in mind are we flooding every page of school textbooks with this meaningless phrase “Unity in Diversity”?
The latest to attack this evanescent unity is the Congress Party’s or Arjun Singh’s pet theme of reservations for Muslims and the so-called “lower” castes in IITs, IIMs and other Central Universities, preceded by the fervent race to give Aligarh Muslim University “minority” status.

How many more Pakistans and Bangladeshs are going to be carved out of India?

I personally believe that the admission to educational institutions should be only on the basis of merit. People who can afford it have to be charged and people who cannot have to be given incentive in the form of waiver of fees and a fixed monthly stipend to take care of other costs.

If the politicians feel that this is not the correct way of empowering the “have nots” and that the reservatins are the only route, then I have a suggestion.

Just like it is mandatory for all the products to have its ingredients listed, similarly it should be made compulsary for all the people qualifying through the Quota route to display the status through their mark sheets and passing certificates.

Doctors in particular have to display their status next to their qualifications e.g MBBS (ST). This is to ensure that people take their own precautions based on thier judgement.

The problem is, that’s not going to get them any votes, unless they divide people on the basis of communities.

It is really sad to see that even after more than 50 years after independance,India continues to remain a DEVELOPING country….This is mainly because of the fact that We still haven’t found leaders….We have only useless politicians, who for their own greed and selfishness will do anything….and here i DO mean anything….
It really is sad to see the reservation policy crop up again….What do the politicians want to achieve from this??? Do they want to bring a APARTHEID like system to INDIA?….Ofcourse this is exactly what will happen if this thing gets through …It is really sad to see that in this great land of the Gandhi…. people are now being broken up on the basis of castes…..Castes, which are afterall only man–made..
I strongly believe, that if the government has to do something about the upliftment of the poorer and backward strata of the society…it has to be done at the grassroot level….We can provide free education at schools to these people, provide them with books, good teaching faculty, and not just that—the Government also has to ensure that the teachers attend schools regularly…Because it has been seen, that all those people with Government jobs, be it teachers,or others working in government establishments take their jobs for granted…THERE is absolutely NO VIGILANCE to see that these people attend their respective offices, or even do their duties effectively…what results is that INDIA STILL SADLY REMAINS TO BE a developing country…..

Is there any organisation working on opposing the reservations? Every Indian should fight against this. If anyone is aware of any such organisation, please post it.

Well said Sooraj, Venkatesh, Dr Sundar and Dharmesh. India will never be rid of its caste system.

Act Now - Oppose increase of reservation quota in Indian educational institutions

We strongly oppose the human resource development ministry plans to increase the reservation quota in the institutions of higher learning from 22.5 per cent to 49 per cent. We urge the government to repeal this proposal. The continued economic development of the country depends upon the excellence of educational institutions in India. Foreign and domestic investment in Indian industries depends upon the availability of large pool of well educated Indian labor force. These shortsighted political divisive measures will harm the technological and economic development of the country.

Indian institutions of higher learning such as IITs and IIMs should be preserved and improved so that the research and education can be amongst the best quality in the world and will be the engine for the rapid technological and economic development of India. The institutions of higher learning are the pillars of technological development and economic growth of the nation. Without a strong merit based educational system, India will lag behind in economic and technological development, while other major nations in the region such as China, South Korea and China are rapidly developing.

Hence, we urge you to oppose and stop these counter productive measures to increase the reservation quota in the institutions of higher learning in India.

Please make a difference. Please email expressing your opposition to members of Indian parliament and Indian news papers. Also, post this petition in web sites and forward to your friends who are interested in technological education and development in India.

Dear Friends,

Please read these comments to know how important it is to stop the reservations and get rid of the caste system.

”We are the only nation in the world were people fight to be called backward rather than forward.”
- Narayan Murthy

“India is ready to discuss racism as long as it is in other countries, but not caste in its own backyard.”
- Dipankar Gupta, professor of sociology , J.N.U. New Delhi

”In place of appealing for removal and abolishing this old curse on India, all the Indians have been shamelessly accepting the caste system imposed upon by their Religion. People are fighting against the reservation quota. Is there a single sensible person who wants to fight against the caste system which is the main reason for the quota ? ”
- Damien Rebello

Caste conscious lunatics and live in this lunatic asylum, of course against our will, and ‘blessed’ with an eternal curse of associating with the insane. The Indian caste system is pointedly diabolical. It is a real curse.
- Swami Vivekananda

Year 2006 : Indian newspapers carry daily stories of atrocities against Dalits or young couples being killed, sometimes by their own families, for daring to fall in love with someone from another caste. The caste based communities in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh have militants to terminate people belonging to the other caste. In spite of all this the Indians think that they are making progress.
- from DailyNews U.K.

Nobody is saying that the caste system should be praised, for it has indeed degenerated India’s self-pride.
- Francois Gautier

Without question, caste system is the curse for India, and it has humiliated millions through the ages. Caste is India’s sorrow, the apartheid that makes Indians hang their heads in shame. Caste serves as the prime reason for conversions even today.
- Barbara Crossette

So you see to what extent this disgraceful caste system has taken us? Our political parties trade on it, our governments use it, our police connive at it. There is a nexus of criminals, police and government, as everybody knows, and we suffer.
- Shri Parthasarathi

India’s real curse lies in the fact that, 57 years after Independence, people continue not only to face daily injustices, but they can be murdered, raped and viciously humiliated merely because they have tried to break out of the caste trap to assert their rights as equal beings.
- (Human Rights Report)

I quite like the quote by Mr Murthy (Infosys) - there is no sense of self respect left within the so called backward classes which still seem to yell and make themselves known as backward even after 50+ years of independence. How long do you intend to stay that way? did you know that your grandparents and parents had a free school, free college, free post graduation, that they received large chunks of money as scholarships (why did the government abuse this word?) which they spent on everything but their education and then they were also given a job at the end of their academic term regardless of whether they actually studied? did you know that for every one of you getting a job just because you belong to a backward caste there are hundreds of hardworking students waiting in line only to be dissappointed by the lack of value and respect to meritocracy? did you know that there is a majority waiting in silent resentment over this injustice which may as well burst out? did you know where this is all going? invariably you will be identified as backward if this reservation policy goes ahead to implementation, invariably the population will start to recognize the importance of caste all over again and invariably the very thing that this reservation policy set out to address will be on the table as an even bigger issue!

Well KK you need to read some newspapers and broaden your vision. You talk like a narrow minded person.

It is not the fault of “backward people” , as you call them. The politicians and society has kept them backward.

Scrap the quota and the caste system as the great visionaries in Vinay Lohars comments say.

Who will do that ? You KK? People like you bark but dont do anything about things.

The main aim should be to ban the quota and get rid of the caste system.

Liked your blog. Here is mine http://emotionalzombie.blogspot.com/“One Billion people.6 IIM’s, 7 IIT’s .Close to 200 seats in a typical IIM and 500 in a typical IIT.One group stands for senseless establishment of quotas. The other group senselessly opposes it. What is going on? Have we lost all our marbles? “

The Britisher seems to have learnt from the Brahmans whose policy was/is to divide infiteley and rule.

Funny how people equate “reservation” to caste system and how IIT/IIM are “Indian” institutes and how to uplift “these” people from grass root level. Do you people really think if reservation goes off the caste system will go off ? You all know the answer, it wont even be minimized, it will just be “hidden” as the dirty little secret of India. India is made up of hyprocrites of people like you in this forum. If you made bad history accept it and work towards it. Dont look for shortcuts.
